Joshua Wallis is an accomplished fine artist working in various media including painting, sculpture, video, and photography, whose work has been exhibited in galleries and venues in Boston, New York, Austin and elsewhere. Josh earned his BFA in painting from Mass College of Art in 2002 and an MFA in Fine Art from Parsons New School for Design in 2007.
Josh's tattoo influences include Japanese tattooing and Ukiyo-e, the traditional American tattoo designs of Bert Grimm, and the portraiture of Joshua Carlton, and he enjoys working on pieces that are bold, that are delicate, and/or pieces that are off-beat or funny.
Josh is not only a serious artist and student of the arts, but a teacher as well, and has taught painting at Cooper Union in NYC, spent 2 years in Brooklyn living in an artists community organizing and curating art and music shows in alternative spaces, most notably The Opera House, a loft building populated by artists, musicians and more.
